How many profiles can be stored on it?
You can store 5 separate complete settings. Also, button 4, which is a small button just to the left of the normal left click button can be programmed as a "special" key, such as ctrl or alt. This allows using button 4 in combination with any of the 12 side buttons to effectively double the number of buttons available there to 24. For example, in Wow, I have buttons 1-12 for my first Action Bar. I have the combination of button 4 as ctl for my second Action Bar (Ctrl-1 thru Ctrl-12).
Each of your 5 settings can be color coded differently so the lights emanating from the various buttons, etc on the mouse immediately identify which of the 5 settings you are using. There is a very nice 'template" that you can put on your screen to help you program the mouse. Switching between the 5 programs can be done on the underside of the mouse, or on the template, so it is not possible to "accidentally" switch profiles during the heat of the game.
Can you reprogram the DPI arrow buttons to a keyboard button instead?
Yes, you can program all the buttons to single or combination keyboard keys.
Does the software support Mac or Linux Ubuntu?
The mouse can only be programmed on Windows, but the profiles will persist in the mouse, so the programmed buttons will work on Mac and Linux just the way you want it.
