Therme Wien is a sprawling complex that encompasses everything from pools and sun tanning to nude saunas and Turkish baths. It is one of the largest modern city spas in Europe, perfect for a day out.
The best thermes I’ve been so far. Huge space for a gateway while still in the city. Great pools, both indoor and outdoor, hot jacuzzi outside, family and private areas. Sauna zone is just amazing, with hammams, cold pool, Finnish sauna and lounge areas. Cafeteria is nice, lunch is about 20 Euro.

We really enjoyed our visit to "Therme Wien." My mom and I had a great time relaxing. The water was clean, the staff were friendly, and there were plenty of changing cabins. We also ate at the café near the pools. We had cheesecake and coffee, and both were very good. The prices were a bit high, both for the food and the entrance, but I still highly recommend it!

First, you’re welcomed by very unfriendly staff.. Then, you basically have to figure everything out by yourself. It is very hard to relax, since it’s like a Kindergarden inside with a lot of noises. There was too much disinfectant in the pools, I had skin issues the next day and my throat and nose were extremely dry, although I actively hydrate myself all the time. It’s only nice when you are all alone like in the photos.

Loved this place, lots of different pools inside and outside, heated pools. The slides where fun too. It was pretty packed when we went because of holidays. But still was enough room for everyone. The whole place is well heated and plenty of bathrooms and showers.

Neat, clean and organized. On days when it is not crowded, it is truly relaxing. Many facilities are offered for children, although it would not be bad to offer some other facilities such as a salt room or ultra red lamps, etc. for all visitors, considering that the prices are quite high.

I think the thermal baths are one of the nicer in the area, the water is warm and the atmosphere is very appealing. I was there with my wife and had a very good rest. In summer the outdoor area is very inviting and pleasant, but even in bad weather you can always find a quiet place to relax. The range of food and drinks is sufficient and there is something suitable for everyone. All in all, we like to go there and enjoy the hours there 😉.

We visited this place recently for the second time, last time was before the pandemic. With the inflation and everything, it's understandable that they had to raise the price. Still, it has increased about 35-40% with less stuff to offer. Some of the staffs were neither helpful nor friendly to non German speakers. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in the sauna and the kids area was a blast for our little ones.

many different options for young & old. fun slides, outdoor pools. a quiet zone where no one under 14 can enter and it's basically one giant whirlpool. friendly staff. the indoor waterfall is a hidden gem. sauna available. they even have a place where you can get facials and focus on your beauty.highly recommend for a day away from the city madness.

It's best to visit on a weekday.A good all-day weekend rate is available in the summer! But the food in the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. The potatoes are very overcooked and consist of nothing but butter. But there are many dishes for all tastes, from baby food in jars to vegan meals;)

My wife and I absolutely loved our visit. We were visiting Vienna from the US, but needed a day to relax. This might be off the beaten path, but it is well worth the visit!

I spent just one day at Therme Wien, but it was enough to enjoy the cool, relaxing side of the city. The location is central, making it a convenient escape. The swimming pool and beautiful saunas were the highlights for me—truly a great way to unwind. The saunas are an extra charge, but they’re worth it. The only thing missing was a good selection of alcohol with music to complete the vibe, but overall, it was a nice experience.

We went there on Monday in August. Upon arrival you will get the wristband to open your private changing room if you book one. This wristband also can be used when you get food, and you have to pay it off when you get out from the spa. For the crowded, it is not that crowded during the morning, but it’s getting more crowded after 15:00 (my guess is because people come here after school/work). Therefore, I recommend to come in the morning if possible. There are so many areas you can use. There are some adult only pools for people age 14+, but it is not really strictly followed and I saw some kids in there… I hope they take it more seriously in the future. Note that the sauna is not included, which is a shame, but I guess for the summer day price of 29€ we paid, it’s fair enough. Another thing that should be improved is the security of the water slides, it is abandoned for kids to use without any bodyguards nearby. And too many kids just go down the slides together, it could be dangerous. Another improvement point is the check-in staff that we interacted with doesn’t speak that much English so she didn’t explain us about the wristbands, we didn’t even know that we can use it to pay for food until we asked the security guard inside. I understand that we are in Vienna and English is not the first language, if I could recommend one thing, I would recommend to have an instruction card in English for foreigners. We ate at the restaurant in the building, there are various options you can choose from. The chicken work with rice is €16, the same goes for beef burger. The portions are really big. The salad is costed by weight. Overall we spent €50 including 3 glasses of soft drinks and one lemon cake.Overall, we will be back here for sure, but maybe during the winter when there are less people so it is calmer!

I think it's something very special to have such a thermal bath in a capital city.In my opinion, the Oberlaa thermal baths impress with:- the great transport connection U1- the size and good equipment (everything works and is top notch- Cleanliness- friendly staff- the slides for the children- the beautiful and large sauna area- the restaurant (a bit higher price but food very good and fresh)Thank you - a visit to the thermal baths is always a successful day, away from the stress of everyday life.Tip:If you have children, come during the week as there is always a lot going on on the weekends and you have to wait longer for the slides-The outside bar is also cool. Drinks can be ordered and consumed directly in the pool.

Excellent spa with plenty of pools both inside and out for all ages. They are ALL warm with either jets, waterfalls or seating within water.Garden area is nice with plenty of sun loungers.Restaurant inside serves hot and cold food with good veggie options.Restaurant outside serves delicious frozen yoghurt.Don't need to carry money as the contact device on your wrist is tapped and settled upon exit.

Surprisingly, there are many pools. There are also 4 slides. We enjoyed it. It's better to buy tickets online.

This is an absolute must when visiting Vienna. We’ve been here on every one of our 4 visits and it just keeps getting better and better. One thing to know, if you don’t pay for a “kabine” or private dressing room, it is very much your choice to let it all hang out with everyone else. Also, sauna and solarium are no clothing allowed. Great place if you have kids as there is a dedicated family section, great place of you don’t have kids because of this 😎 Bring some crocs / flip-flops and a towel. Robes are extra. At around 30€ per adult, great value and there are group and family discounts available. Full service bar and restaurant and a new poolside “cocktail van” that does a mean Piña Colada 😉 It’s all pay on exit, you get an electronic wristband and what a great way to spend an April Sunday. 😍

We rested on 12.06.2024. We chose the Relax package. It was a weekday, the weather was bad, and there were few people. The staff was very good, the service was wonderful (especially the workers in the Relax zone). There is a very large outdoor area, but the pools are indeed very monotonous. In the sauna area, the staff does not monitor the adherence to rules by visitors (the use of phones is prohibited, but the employee passing by does not even make a remark), and then other visitors give you a bad rating for this. There is very little information in English, we accidentally went out the wrong door and triggered the alarm (spoiling the rest for people in the quiet zone), it seems to me that important information should be duplicated in English, then it will be easier for tourists and all visitors will be calmer. Overall, this is a good SPA, but this rating is based exclusively on our own experience when there were few visitors.

We went there on Wednesday around 3pm and there were no queues (either with a ticket nor without one). It could have been down to the weather as it was a bit rainy day. Inside all loungers were occupied but we didn't mind it. There were lots of different pools with massage jets. We visited nude sauna which was additional €10.50 per person. Place is cashless and you pay during the check out (for drinks, sauna etc.). There were lots of families with young kids.Overall great experience and would come back there again. I liked the location of this place as it's just beside the U1 and ablility to self check out.

Pleasant water temperature, spacious pools - many people don't notice it that way. There is a great area for children with slides etc. For adults there are 2 separate “relaxation pools” - very, very pleasant. Prices are ok too.The only thing is that queuing at the cash register in the evening when the pool closes is a bit complicated and you have to wait longer to get outside (you only pay at the exit).

Wonderful! It was Sunday, but surprisingly uncrowded. There is something for everyone—kids, adults, couples, seniors... The water is warm and clean. Staff is kind. The food is okay, with a nice selection of drinks. Being so close to the city center, it's hard to ask for more from a thermal spa. The only disappointment is that the sauna isn't included in the already pricey 40 euro daily adult ticket.

Everything would be fine if not for the fact that the opening time should be until 10 p.m., and at 9 p.m. there was an statement that everyone had to leave the object. We were not informed about this and paid for 3 hours.(This is not information that the object will be closed in an hour. This is throw all people out from all pools one hour before closing.)

Privacy Policy is not reinforced. There was a lady in W's sauna taking a video. And a guy on the phone in the mixed sauna area. It's also not very clean. There was blood on the floor in the changing room. I don't think it's worth 40 euros if you only want to use the sauna.

I can’t believe I never heard of Therme Wien before! It’s a great way to spend a winter day in Vienna when it’s too cold to sit at an outdoor cafe. So easy to get to on the U1, and I took the advice from other reviews to book in advance. May be difficult for non German speakers, but take your smart phone and use Google translate- it’s so with it. For visitors to Vienna, the 79 Euro day pass includes entrance fee. a 25 min massage, towel rental, locker rental and 10 Euro credit in the restaurant. You have to bring flip flops. Wanted to use the Sauna, but it was an up charge. We were there from 11-2 and had a wonderful time trying different pools. I love being in an outdoor thermal pool when it’s 30 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Some areas were for adults only, which was nice as there were a lot of kids. Id go back in a heartbeat and would try the sauna next time.

Many massage jets in the pools weren't working and the saunas lack details other than the name and temperature. The pools were all very nice and clean. The restaurant has a pretty poor system that makes it slow and chaotic, two of our meals were taken by others. The beer on tap at the sauna bistro was bad (I often drink Ottakringer Helles but this was undrinkable, two other guests thought so too) and when I brought it back I was told that it's fine, no solutions. This Therme has so much potential to be top-tier but unfortunately feels like it's aiming for mediocre.

Have been visiting for many years but our last visit was big disappointment and our last visit there.Crazy prices also in restaurant. The employee in restaurant and around pools very unfriendly. Much more colder water, we had to go to shower to warm up.The walking around the pools hurts your feet as the concrete is old and sharp.
